First Hydro Company is one of the UK’s most dynamic electricity generators
responsible for the management and operation of the pumped storage plants at
Dinorwig and Ffestiniog in North Wales.
FHC own and operate a Visitor Centre, the Electric Mountain, which is situated in
Llanberis and which attracts around 200,000 visitors per year, 60,000 of these
visitors go on the tour of Dinorwig Power Station’s underground complex.
Based at the Centre in Llanberis, we are looking for a manager to further develop this
facility and be accountable for all aspects of the day-to-day Electric Mountain
Business - from the management and training of staff - to budget and financial control,
delivery of key business objectives and taking responsibility for the Centre’s
strategy and development.
With a strong commercial background, ideally in a visitor, educational or retail
environment,you will have a good standard of education, with possibly a business
or finance-related degree. While fluency in Welsh would be advantageous, it is not essential. More important will be your ability to demonstrate motivation and enthusiasm for the success of both the role and the Centre.
